Before I delve into my review, I just wanted to start by saying that I have used Philosophy in the past. This isn't my first rodeo with this brand but my previous experience wasn't that great. I had previously tried the Purity Made Simple Cleanser and the Hope in a Jar moisturiser and combined, the two products made my skin break out like mad! I know there are many people out there that absolutely love this cleanser, however for me, it just wasn't the right cleanser.
Anyway as you just read, the crazy breakout made for a bad experience causing me to become very hesitant to try this brands product again. However, lucky for me I did give it a go! I must admit that I am SUPER STOKED to have bit the bullet and gave Philosophy a second try as I AM SUPER HAPPY with how my skin looks and feels right now - all because of the Renewed Hope range.
Somehow I got super lucky (thank you jesus) and was sent the Renewed Hope range from beautyheaven to trial and review. I've been using it for around a month now and I'm happy to say that I've noticed some pretty big changes in my skin! First up, my acne has reduced SIGNIFICANTLY! Although I still have a fair amount of acne scarring most of the acne that kept popping up has now DISAPPEARED, VANISHED, FINITO! HOOORAAAAAAY! I've finally found something that delivers on its promise and better yet, it doesn't dry my skin out!
I've posted about my skin struggles in one of my older posts and before this range, I was using a good old lemon as a cleanser. YES A LEMON. It worked wonders for me, but my skin was starting to get too used to it and I had to switch it up which was awesome as I got this range right on time. Anyway in my older post, I mentioned how hard I've struggled in finding the right products for my skin. It always tends to be that one minute the product works great, the next... it stops working and I break out all over again - repeat x100 times. HOWEVER, not this time.. well for now anyway! Fingers crossed that this range continues to work wonders on my skin for a loooooooong time!
First things first... I'M THE REALEST... JUST KIDDING. I had to, but in all seriousness, lets get straight into my review of the range:
1. Renewed Hope in a Jar Eye Cream
I found this eye cream to be pretty average, it has a lightweight airy feel to it, is easy to apply, glides on like a dream and absorbs quite easily. I haven't noticed too many noticeable changes.... Then again, it could be because there's nothing too visible happening in my eye area to improve....
Moving on, this eye cream retails at $55 A POP - *insert shock and surprise* seriously though, I think for the 15ml you get and the fact that it was pretty basic, I don't think It's worth purchasing. Then again, I looked at reviews online and it's got some pretty good ones. Really, it's up to you, for me it didn't do much but maybe it would do wonders for you.
2. Renewed Hope in a Jar Moisturizer
I actually really like this product. I find the cream to be really hydrating, easy to apply, super smooth and glide-y and super fast in absorbing. Usually, if something absorbs into my skin fast, I feel like my skin will get dry again or feel tight after, but not with this. This sinks in nicely and keeps me feeling hydrated. I wake up, feel my skin and it feels soft and smoooooooth... like a baby's butt. I think this combined with the face wash really work well in clearing my skin. This too is $55 a pop BUT you get 60ml of product and it lasts quite a while. Would I purchase? ABSOLUTELY YES. I mean it does seem like a normal face cream, I'm not one to notice if my skin looks brighter/radiant/glowy or whatever but I know what my skin feels and I can see it clearing up, so yes this cream is magic to me right now!
3. Renewed Hope in a Jar Cleanser
I'm really not quite sure what I can say about this product to really do it justice. IT. JUST. WORKS. It's a super creamy cleanser, that foams up when applied. I would only apply a small amount as a little really does go a long way. Squeeze a small amount out into your hands and add a little water, rub together to get the foam and then apply to your face. I find this method works best instead of just applying directly onto your face and hitting only one area - if that makes sense. What I immediately noticed when I washed it off was how tight my face felt - super tight I might say. It almost felt really dry and made me wonder HOW CAN THAT BE WHEN MY FACE IS STILL WET?! I JUST DON'T KNOWWWWW. But It made me feel like my face just got a SQUEAKY SQUEAKY CLEAN - it's as if all the gunk hiding underneath the surface has been pulled and sucked out with a vacuum. That's exactly how it feels! I think its this feeling that kick starts how soft and amazing my face felt right after. Anyway, like I said before, I think its this with the Moisturizer that creates miracles with my skin. The cleanser retails at $35 and you get a good 150ml worth of product. I would most definitely recommend this to anyoneeeeeeee. It's just that great!
All in all, I think the Renewed Hope range works wonders, GIVES ME HOPE and hopefully if you do decide to try it, I hope it works wonders with your skin!
